Jared Dauphinais

PHC Team

#NextGenArborist

Jared brings a unique mix of curiosity, grit, and humor to his role as an arborist. With a lifelong love for the outdoors and a background in martial arts, he approaches tree care with discipline, open-mindedness, and a deep respect for the natural world. For Jared, the best part of the job is being outside—learning about new pests and diseases, trees, and finding practical, sustainable solutions.

He’s especially passionate about soil health and enjoys spending his free time reading about soil care, gardening, and farming. Known for his laid-back personality and good sense of humor, Jared values strong communication and believes in the power of perspective. He’s always looking to expand his knowledge, with a current focus on advancing his Plant Health Care (PHC) expertise.

Whether he's wielding a gas-powered chainsaw (preferred over battery) or cooking up steak and grilled leeks at home, he brings energy and care to everything he does.

Off the clock, you’ll likely find Jared enjoying a smoothie, reading a good book (favorites include The Creative Act by Rick Rubin), or planning his next trip to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. He’s also a fan of old country, blues, and classic rock—and will never say no to a meal at Gibbet Hill Grill in Groton, MA.

Fun Fact: Jared spent most of his childhood training in martial arts.

Best Career Advice: "Don’t go straight to college—get your hands dirty first, and learn what you don’t know."

Biggest Pet Peeve: Poor communication and closed-mindedness.

What he wanted to be when he was 10: An action movie star

Why He Loves the Job: “It’s rewarding to step out of your comfort zone. We know so much—and so little—about trees. Staying open-minded is key.”
